The Masters Restaurant is a classic steak house and full-service dining spot located on E Thirteen Mile Rd in Madison Heights. It carries a quiet, somewhat old-school charm that’s evident the moment you walk through the door – from the golf-themed statue greeting guests at the entrance to the polished, slightly retro décor inside. This isn’t a place chasing trends, but one that leans on consistency and an inviting, laid-back atmosphere.

The menu offers a solid variety of hearty American staples with a focus on steak and seafood, making it a good choice for those who appreciate straightforward, well-prepared dishes. Standouts often mentioned include the horseradish-encrusted Canadian salmon, pork chops, French dip sandwiches, and the generous Delmonico steak. Portions tend to be generous, and meal prices hover around reasonable levels, especially considering the quality and serving size – a full meal under $20 is not uncommon here.

Service feels attentive without being overbearing. Regular visitors have noticed the owners are hands-on and invested in the dining experience, creating a welcoming environment where tables are efficiently attended to and guests feel genuinely cared for. This is a place where you can expect prompt refills and friendly interactions from servers who know the menu well.

The atmosphere suits a variety of occasions – casual dinners with friends, family celebrations, or even a quiet birthday lunch complemented by live music on the upstairs deck on certain days. The setting is more comfortable and relaxed than lively, making it a spot to soak in good food without the noise of a bustling nightspot. If you’re looking for a good steak or seafood dinner paired with a no-fuss vibe, The Masters fits the bill.

Locals who return over decades appreciate the mix of familiarity and solid dining reliability here, especially on weekends or special occasions like Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Eve, when the restaurant feels just warm enough to make guests linger a bit longer. While it doesn’t have the trendy buzz of newer places, its steady quality and attentive service make it a dependable choice in the Madison Heights dining scene.

We go out to with our friends to different restaurants every Saturday. We have been to The Masters 4 or 5 times. Everytime has been a great experience. I have notice this gentleman in a suite always making sure customers we're taking care of and tables were cleared and set. This time I asked him his name and his role at the restaurant. He stated owner manager, this totally made sense. FYI, they make their drinks like you would make them at home. You can taste the booze in there drinks unlike other places you go to. I had a $29 12 ounce prime rib cooked to perfection with a old fashioned that they both knew their craft.

You know, there are just some places you keep going back to, and for me, one of them is definitely The Masters Restaurant. I've actually been dining there on and off since the early 90s, and every time, it's just a wonderful experience. From the moment you walk in, that charming golf statue in the entryway always makes me smile, and the whole place just has such a nice, welcoming feel to it. We had such a lovely meal, I tell ya. We started with a fresh garden salad, and their French Onion Soup. My goodness, that is still perfectly delicious, wonderfully cheesy and so comforting. The warm bread rolls they bring to the table are always a little treat, too! For my main course, I went with the Broiled Atlantic Salmon, and it was cooked to perfection, incredibly flavorful. My partner had the Neapolitan flank steak with a big, fluffy baked potato, and she said, "I will get this again! It was very good," and it looked simply fantastic. We made sure to save room for a slice of their lemon Italian cake, and that was just perfect! And the service, bless their hearts, was top-notch, just like always. Our waitress was very attentive, very polite, and very courteous, always making sure that we were well taken care of. The manager even checks on everybody to see if they're doing okay and if they need anything, and that is such a wonderful touch. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. This truly is a neighborhood local long-standing favorite, and if you're ever looking for a reliable spot for a truly enjoyable meal, I can't recommend The Masters enough. I'll for sure be heading back there, no doubt about it!

A goid friend brought there for my Birthday pre-covid ; music played while we dined on the upper deck, food was good as was the service. Today my son brought me for a Mothers day lunch as we both enjoyed our Walleye dishes, I enjoyed the atmosphere and delightful service. I highly recommend to dine in, preferably while music is playing

Haven't been here since the 1990s. So our return was long overdue. Decided to go on Valentine's Eve 2-13-25 A friend highly recommend the Horseradish Salmon. The horseradish salmon dinner was a complete meal that came with sides for under $20 Y E S you read that correctly a huge generous piece of salmon $20 for a meal. Raz was our server just a Charming young man he knew the menu backwards and forwards he highly recommended the fresh perch that just arrived that morning. But..... We both came here for horseradish salmon and we weren't changing gears. If you've never been the entire restaurant is the Masters Golf Course theme. Pictures Props Equipment If you have someone in your family that absolutely loves golf you have to take them here it is a modern-day golf Mecca The salmon was cooked perfectly, plus it was a generous portion I ordered the old school Split Pea Soup ( hard pass next time someone in the kitchen had a heavy hand with one of the INGREDIENTS) The side salad was paltry and boring. Service with Raz was superb. Salmon tasty and generous Restaurant though, is old and tired, needs an update. From the old sign out front to the tables and carpet

I have to say the food here was delicious. The prices were not that high and the service was perfect. Waitress was prompt and very friendly. She made sure our glasses were always full without being rude about it. The only reason this is not a five-star is because it was kind of an older joint and kind of quiet. But if you're looking for a good food at a good price don't pass this place.

The service was very good. The food is great and prices are reasonable. We had some adult beverages, they were really good, too.

My parents dined here for years and while I visit occasionally for sentimental reasons, I also visit for the ambiance and the great menu. Yesterday was a lunch visit with my brothers. You cannot help but love the intimacy and decor of this place. We were fortunate, as it was still beautifully decorated from the Christmas holiday. Our server, Heidi, was attentive and efficient. I had a hard time deciding on what to order as the specials were interesting, while the usual menu included the Italian and seafood items I always enjoy. I eventually went with the horseradish coated salmon, while my brothers opted for the French dip sandwiches. The salmon was fresh, but slightly overdone for my taste. The horseradish coating wasn't as full bodied as I'd hoped. The fresh vegetables were flavorful and cooked just right. The boys said the beef in their sandwiches was cooked perfectly, though the quantity fell short. All in all, I'll continue to return to the Masters. It has a wonderful atmosphere, offers a great menu, and their service is consistently good. I recommended you give them a try. P.S. Order the French Onion soup if you're a fan. Love it!

Originally wanted fished. Walleye was out for the evening. Sajo was excellent. Ordered whitefish with clam chowder soup. Soup wasn’t creamy. Tasted more like chicken noddle soup with tiny clams. Waitress returned 25 mins later to say the whitefish was out. Very disappointing. The bread was excellent. Ended up with ravioli and wasn’t happy. Considering it took 7 mins to serve the dish. Supposed to be oven baked. Little flavor. Noddle end hard. My boyfriend ordered prime rib. He enjoyed his dinner. Said it wasn’t the best in town. But overall pleased. I would return with the hopes I can order fish!
